Airsoft Sniper Rifles

For many, the role of the sniper is a prestigious and highly regarded position on the battlefield, with an allure that other roles seem to lack. The truth is that being a successful sniper isn’t easy, nor does it come without its challenges. In fact, it’s probably the hardest position to establish yourself in, taking lots of practise and buckets of patience. Be prepared to sit for long periods of time, staying still to remain undetected and only occasionally getting an opportunity for a shot, but when that time comes it’s well worth it.

Airsoft sniper rifles offer a longer range than many other airsoft weapons, with improved accuracy to the detriment of the rate of fire. They aren’t built for firefights or for exchanging hundreds or rounds with the enemy team but are designed for finesse and single shot eliminations.

Sniper rifles were developed during the mid-19th century, with the first being the Whitworth Rifle. Optical sights were produced during the Crimean War which allowed for more accurate target engagement than ever before. The use of the sniper rifle during WWI and WWII changed the face of battle, with troops remaining hidden in trenches as not to expose themselves to potential sharpshooters.
