We stock a wide range of air gun pellets from the biggest brands in the industry, from RWS to JSB, FX Airguns to Crosman.
While pellets can be an afterthought when buying a new air gun, we hugely recommend not skimping out on your ammo. Investing in quality pellets will make sure you get the most from your air gun.
Whether you’re looking for superb accuracy, lethality for hunting, or clean hits for target practice, the right pellets can make all the difference.
Air Gun Pellet Types
While most pellets come in a metal diabolo (coned) shape, the heads vary greatly. Different pellets are designed for different purposes, so pick the right pellets for whatever you want to do.
- Domed/Round Head - Probably the most common shape of pellet; an all-rounder designed for accuracy and speed over long distances.
- Pointed Head – Slightly less accurate than round heads but designed for hunting effectiveness.
- Hollow Point – Lower accuracy but increased lethality as the pellet transfers more power into the target; a good choice for pest control.
- Flat Head/Wadcutter – Good aerodynamics over short distances and leaves a clean hole on the target; ideal for target practice and competitions.
Air Gun Pellet Sizes
Another important consideration is getting the right size pellet, or calibre, for your needs. Unlike with pellet shapes, the pellet size is determined by what calibre your air gun can accommodate.
Using the wrong calibre pellet will damage the gun, so check that you have the right size. The most common sizes are .177 and .22 calibre. The larger the calibre, the heavier the pellet, which leads to a stronger shot over long distances but sacrifices speed.
Most air gun pellet brands will offer various shapes in both .177 and .22 calibres, along with some other sizes.
Air Gun Pellet Weights
Many air gun pellets with the same calibre will come in at different weights, measured in grains (an old measurement; one grain is approximately 65 milligrams). A large influence on the weight is the material used in the pellet.
Similar to calibre, heavier pellets will perform better over long distances but will lose speed. Some low-powered airguns won’t be powerful enough to shoot accurate shots with the heavier pellets in their calibre, so bear this in mind if you’re working with a low-powered weapon.
