a collection of commonly used seals on most air rifles and fittings. The kit includes 4 of each of the following; Dowty seals, X-rings and PTFE Crush washers.

Dowty seals: These are usually used on both airgun gauges and on air fittings such as your fill probe or between two air adapters. These will fit on any 1/8 BSPP threads, which is the standard thread for most air gauges and air fittings. You can see one fitted to the bottom of a gauge in the pictures above.

X-Rings: These are used in the base of gauge threads, usually in the block of your rifle. These will fit into any 1/8 BSPP threads and can be seen in the picture above, the benefit of using an X-ring over a dowty washer is that you can "Time" the position of your gauge, allowing you to align the gauge horizontally with your rifle. You do not need to tighten your gauge fully onto the X-Ring, simply screw the gauge in until it starts to touch the seal, then you can align the gauge to your liking. One thing to be aware of is that the X-Ring seals in the base of the hole, so you need to make sure that the air feed hole is in the base of the hole and not in the side of the threads.

PTFE Crush washers: These are typically used between 2 air fittings that may be unsuitable for dowty washers. These will fit in any female 1/8 BSPP threads, and you can see a use case in the pictures above. The washer needs to be crushed between the 2 fittings in order to seal, to install it place the seal in the base of the female threads, then tighten the male fitting onto it, the fittings will need to be done up quite tight in order for the seal to work but make sure not to overtighten them.
