As a replica of the L403A1, VFC has meticulously crafted this emerging rifle in a successful VFC V3 GBB configuration, complete with licensing, trademarks, and rollmarks from KAC. The rifle's exterior is precision-machined from aluminium and features the distinctive 12.8-inch KAC URX 6 M-LOK handguard, along with an upper monolithic Picatinny rail interface, enabling shooters to customise their L403A1 with various peripheral devices, optics, and furniture, all complemented by the proprietary 13.7-inch dimpled heavy barrel. Designed for ambidextrous use, it includes texturised fire controls accessible to both right-and left-handed shooters, facilitating convenient manipulation of the fire selector, magazine releases, bolt release, and charging handle in any airsoft setting. As a licensed Knights product, it incorporates the Quick Detach Coupling (QDC) flash hider, allowing for the attachment of the QDC/PRT suppressor, KAC folding iron sight set, and KAC series 2 ambidextrous safety selector. The receiver showcases the licensing and rollmarks for the KS-1 on the left and SR-16 markings on the right. At the rear, an ambidextrous QD end plate allows for easy mounting of one-point or two-point slings on a six-position buffer tube, equipped with the ergonomically designed B5 crane stock, which includes additional sling and QD sling points for further mounting options, along with a rubberised buttstock for enhanced recoil absorption.

At its core, VFC has integrated its successful V3 GBB formula into this platform, featuring a redesigned steel hammer set, improved firing pin, and steel reinforced fire control components to bolster overall durability and user experience. An enhancement to the V3 system is the introduction of the Next Generation AR GBB Hop system, which includes a newly designed steel reinforced TDC hop-up system that not only increases the durability of the hop unit but also allows for precise, fine-tuned adjustments using the Next Gen AR GBB Hop Adjustment Tool Set, enabling shooters to adjust the VFC hop in the chamber without disassembling the KS-1. Another improvement to the V3 system is the newly designed precision machined steel bolt, which simplifies maintenance, paired with a heavy, high-speed steel buffer unit for a robust system that delivers a satisfying recoil experience. The rifle offers safe, semi, and full-auto fire modes on a curved trigger, providing an enjoyable firing experience with its crisp wall break and trigger reset. As part of the V3 system, the KS-1 promises a rewarding experience for both home use and field performance. Additionally, the KS-1 includes the latest version of the successful VFC VMAG V3 in a tan colour, a 30-round GBB magazine known for its high gas efficiency and the capability to switch between dry fire and last round bolt lock with a simple flick of the mode switch.

The KS-1 stands out among contemporary AR platforms, meeting the demands of modern shooters with its fully ambidextrous lower receiver, where the fire control safety, magazine release, and bolt catch/release are mirrored on both sides of the rifle. It is one of the first rifles with ambidextrous lower receivers to be fielded by the military post-2023.
