Han Solo posing with his DL-44 blaster, similar to our air pistol selection

With Star Wars: The Force Awakens premiering this week, the world has been going crazy for all things associated with the film franchise.

This has spawned a video of Jerry Miculek, often dubbed “The Greatest Shooter of all Time” to have a go at using a two real firing version of Han Solo’s DL-44 blaster pistol!

The gun has been created using a .30 Mauser C96 pistol, which has been visually modified using a WWII-era German MG81 machine gun muzzle and even a sight from a Sherman Tank! The second DL-44 has been equipped with Hensoldt & Wetzlar Ziel Dialyt riflescope from the same period.

Upon inspection, the “blasters” looks identical to their film counterpart, showing that the attention to detail has been incredible to create these guns.

Jerry does his own version of the “Kessel Run”, firing six shots on three targets in quick succession, before attempting to fire the fastest six shots from a DL-44 blaster ever!

The video is very cheesy, but equally brilliant! If you want to watch it for yourself, just following the link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6EQQnkUGIk. Jerry also promises to follow up with an E-11 blaster rifle video, which we will be keeping a keen eye on!

If you fancy give your own Kessel Run a go, why not take a look at our air pistol selection and give some target shooting a go. We’re not sure if you’ll be able to do it in under 12 parsecs though…!
