Many target shooters in the US are now making the switch from live ammunition to using air guns in their sport, and are loving the change!

Thanks to advancements in air guns, the transition does not feel that different to many sportsmen due to the low calibre of ammunition they were using. conducted a survey of 4,500 shooters - 40 per cent had shot an air rifle in the past 12 months. Was this out of choice or because they could not source the ammunition they wanted?

Interestingly, the survey found that a huge 75 per cent of shooters said limitation to ammunition had no effect on their choice to shoot air guns whatsoever!

Major gun manufactures have now dipped their toe into the air gun market, with the Smith & Wesson’s Walther division joining in the fun, and Sig Sauer even releasing their P226 and P250 air pistols. This has piqued the interest of many, who now want to see if shooting air guns is as enjoyable as many people say.

The realism of air guns being built to near-exact specifications of their live firing counterparts was extremely pleasing to many shooters, who believed the experience would be lacking before they had tried it!
