We recently covered a story reporting that all Bronze Age iron came from space following scientific investigation (which can be read here) but now we have a real doozy on our hands… The Pentagon has reportedly recovered metal alloys from unidentified flying objects that are said to be baffling scientists!
These materials are currently being stored in modified buildings in Las Vegas, and are said to have “amazing properties”, according to the New York Times.
The story is coming to light after the U.S. Department of Defence (DoD) admitted to running a secret $22m (£15m) programme between 2007 and 2012 which was responsible for investigating reports of UFOs. It was known as the Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Programme (AATIP).
Ralf Blumenthal, one of the authors of the New York Times report, spoke recently of the scientists investigating the strange materials, saying:
“They have some material from these objects that is being studied, so that scientists can try and figure out what accounts for their amazing properties.” He stated later that the DoD “do not know” what the materials are made of…
Researchers also studied people who claimed they had experienced physical effects following encounters with unidentified aerial objects. Unsurprisingly, The Pentagon has refused to comment on the story.
A previously classified video has also been released by the DoD, showing Navy pilots reacting in a rather surprising and astonishing way after being sent to investigate an unidentified object off the coast of San Diego.
The footage, taken from 2014, shows an encounter between two Navy F/A-18 Super Hornets from the aircraft carrier Nimitz, and an object described as roughly the size of a commercial plane. Commander David Fravor and Lieutenant Commander Jim Slaight were asked to investigate the object while on a routine training mission 100 miles out into the Pacific.
Watch the video below to see what they saw:
Weird, eh! Speaking to The New York Times, Commander Fravor said that the object was about 40ft long, had no wings, plumes or rotors and outpaced their F-18s. He also said it was big enough to churn the sea 50ft below it.
Experts say that there is usually a worldly explanation for UFO sightings, be it adverse weather conditions or experimental military technology, and state that the absence of an explanation is not proof of alien life.
It also begs the question as to why the government seem to be so forthcoming with information. Are they being honest or are they trying to draw attention away from something else?
So, what do you think of it all? Do you think it’s all nonsense, or will we soon see those alien materials being used on our Daystate air rifles? Answers on a postcard (or on our social media channels!).
