Airsoft is a much-loved hobby for people of all ages and backgrounds, and there are sites up and down the country where people can enjoy a good skirmish with other airsoft players. We have covered sites in Bristol, Wales and the Midlands, amongst others, but in this post we are looking towards the capital.
London has several great sites, and a few are indoors so you can play airsoft whatever the weather. Read on to find out about some of London’s best airsoft sites.
Red 1 Airsoft is a premier woodland airsoft site in Chislehurst, Kent. The site has various features such as village and trenches and there is equipment to hire should you require it. The minimum age for players at Red 1 is 12 and they must be accompanied by an adult. Like any other airsoft site there are rules in place to ensure safe play and the friendly staff and regular airsoft players are happy to help. Whether you are visiting alone, as a group, are a beginner or experienced, Red 1 Airsoft is a good day out.
A partner site of Ultimate Airsoft, Bunker 51 has the theme of a decommissioned Cold War Nuclear Bunker and is located a short distance from the O2 Arena in North Greenwich. The two arenas at Bunker 51 accommodate up to 45 people and a variety of packages are available, including the use of M4 Carbines with 1000 BBs. Face masks, Special Ops uniforms, vests, helmets and gloves are provided for players. Skirmishes at Bunker 51 can be booked through Ultimate Airsoft. The venue also has paintballing, laser tag and zombie experiences available.
Tactical Airsoft is woodland site located in Croydon, less than an hour from central London. New players are always welcome, but booking a place is advised, particularly if you have to hire equipment. Games start at 10 am, and players should arrive at 9 am to sort their kit, gun and for a briefing of the site and play. The woodland site has several structures throughout, making it as original and unique as any other airsoft arena.
Heading a bit further out of London to Dorking, Surrey, Elite Action Games has been operating since 2005. Their Dorking site has several features including a US Firebase, a chapel with bell tower firing point, a World War II style bunker zone and The Fort, a high defendable position. With so many variations to the typical woodland airsoft site, it is worth the effort heading out of London to experience it. Elite Action Games offers group hire of 15 to 30 people, with equipment, BB’s and lunch included.
In the other direction, Ultimate Wargames is based in Fawkham, Kent and is one of the best sites for experiencing combat. The airsoft scenarios are realistic, challenging and a lot of fun. Replica weapons, BB’s and clothing are provided, and they cater to group bookings, stag and hen dos, ladies only and single players. With several packages available that are suitable for beginners to experienced airsofters, Ultimate Wargames is one of the best in the wider London area.
