When it comes to historical airsoft replicas, World War 2 is probably the most obvious and abundant era to explore. But, with so many famous models, where do you begin? We stock an extensive selection of WW2 airsoft guns and have picked out a couple of the top replicas to get you started.

Whether you’re a hardcore MilSim enthusiast or have a more casual interest in 20th century military history, there are plenty of replicas to intrigue you.

1. King Arms M1928 Chicago Typewriter Airsoft Rifle

The ‘Tommy’ gun is incredibly recognisable for this period and was used by both U.S. and British troops in the Second World War. In the previous Prohibition Era decades, the early submachine gun also had a reputation for being a favourite to gangsters and criminals.

This airsoft replica version features a real wood grip and stock, giving it a solid weight and authentic feel. King Arms makes some fantastic Thompson replicas with good performance to back up the visuals. The M1928 Thompson airsoft rifle is equipped with a 450 rd drum magazine and is often applauded for its accuracy.

2. AGM Sten MKII WW2 6mm Airsoft Electric Assault Rifle Full Metal RIF AEG

Due to the very expensive Thompson SMGs, the British also supplemented their use of these with UK-made Sten guns that were complete with a simple design, stripped back to the bare essentials, and very cheap production costs.

This airsoft replica might share the simplicity of its real steel counterpart, but it makes a brilliantly durable addition to any arsenal. AGM’s Sten can shoot 320 FPS and comes with everything you need, including a starter BB pack, speed loader, rechargeable battery and handy cleaning rod.

3. Ares Classic Line SMLE British No.04 MK1 Airsoft Rifle (CLA-004)

The SMLE or Lee-Enfield was the standard issue British infantry rifle by 1941. It was favoured for being reliable and having a good rate of fire for being a bolt action rifle. It stayed in service for many decades and has taken on status as a legendary rifle.

This airsoft counterpart is spring powered and has a 35 rd magazine. It certainly looks the part, with high-quality wood finishing and grade 304 stainless steel providing a realistic feel. The Ares airsoft replica also allows for wonderfully smooth operation, offering a satisfying shooting experience.

4. G&G G980 Kar98k Wood Stock 6mm Gas Airsoft Rifle

The Karabiner 98k was a bolt-action rifle used by the German infantry. Its design roots lie in earlier Mauser rifles, and it was noted for its accuracy, range and reliability. After millions of Kar98ks were captured by the Soviets, other forces also made frequent use of these guns post-war.

This G&G Kar98k replica airsoft rifle is incredibly realistic, with a real wood stock and solid build. This model is gas-powered and also has a functional bolt system. With up to 330 FPS, it's a powerful option for skirmishers. This version also comes with a leather shoulder strap, which adds to the authenticity of the replica.

Another very famous bolt-action rifle, the Mosin Nagant was used by Soviet Union troops during several conflicts and throughout WW2. The 1891/30 version was modified to be used as a sniper rifle.

This airsoft replica of the famous gun is spring powered and has a 15-round capacity. The real wood stock and plastic bayonet offer a realistic look and feel.
